Comprehensive Eye Exams to Maintain Good Eye Health

The best way to protect your eyesight is to get regular eye exams. It is especially important if your vision changes, if you hurt your eye in any way, or if you have a history of eye disease in your family. You don't want to take any risks when it comes to your eyes.

At North Georgia Vision Center Inc., our optometrists take the time to give you the most thorough eye exam in Rock Spring, GA. We'll use the most up-to-date technology to not only find the right prescription for your eyes but also check for glaucoma, cataracts, and other diseases that could affect your vision in the long run. Eye exams are highly recommended to be done once every two years to ensure your eyes remain healthy. If you have been diagnosed with an eye condition, however, we recommend scheduling an appointment once or twice a year, depending on the severity. Schedule your eye exam today!

What to Expect at an Eye Exam

Our eye doctors will look at your health history and the health history of your family. If you have a family history of eye disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or bad vision, you may be at a higher risk for eye problems. Our eye doctors will then conduct a few visions test to check for any nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and potential eye conditions.

iWellness Scan

iWellness eye scan is recommended for all adult patients, but especially for patients that:

  • Are over 40
  • Have diabetes
  • Have a family history of glaucoma or macular degeneration
  • Are highly nearsighted

Using Spectral Domain OCT technology, these brief sans can detect early changes in the retain, including changes from glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration BEFORE they can be seen in a routine eye exam.

The optomap Retinal Exam

  • Fast, easy, and comfortable
  • May alleviate the need for dilation
  • Provides a permanent record for annual review

An otomap Exam includes a panoramic image of the surface of your retina and an OCT scan showing deeper structures inside your retina. These images help our doctors assess the health of your eyes and check for conditions, including macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments.
